Kim is based in Kapiti Coast and combines three creative processes in her artworks - beekeeping, photography and encaustic painting. She assembles her imagery by layering portions of her photographs with ink and pigments, building up the layers between many fine sheets of beeswax. Inspired by nature, her paintings have depth, translucency and environmental meaning. All her artworks are created using upcycled vintage trays and other substrates.

Pukeko Black is on an ornate vintage silver tray and measures 21cm wide by 32cm high.
