Hooly lives in Hawkes Bay and creates ceramic bowls and homewares using his anagama wood-fired kiln. He often carves the clay to create stunning effects.

The sideways-glazed vases measure approx 20cm high and are created using a technique whereby the glaze is applied once the vase is lying in the kiln, allowing the drips to move across the vase.
