Joseph lives in Hawkes Bay and has a completely unique style of painting on old window frames. He etches with transparent white on the back of the glass, and paints a separate scene on the back board. This creates, depth and shadows, but most of all a dreamy, reminiscent feeling.

Legacy speaks to the relationship between farmers and the land, the handing down of generations of care, hard work, and ancestry. The actual window has been framed in a matt black wood, and measures 82cm wide by 43cm high.
