Nga mea iti - The Little Things by Chris Birch
Nga mea iti - The Little Things by Chris Birch
This waka hoe was shaped with the rhythm of Trinity Roots – The Little Things flowing through the process. The song, and the hoe, carry the reminder that life is full of ups and downs — storms, calm waters, and everything in between. What grounds us, and what gives us strength, are the small things we hold close: a kind word, a shared laugh, a moment of stillness.
Ngā mea iti honours the idea that even the smallest details can guide us forward, becoming markers of resilience and anchors of hope.
Whakataukī: “He iti rā, he iti mapihi pounamu.”(Though it is small, it is as precious as a greenstone.) This proverb reminds us that the little things — no matter how small — can hold immense value, beauty, and meaning in our lives.
Made with recycled rimu, this piece measurements are 1185 mm (L) x 135 mm (W) x 30 mm (D)
