Justin is a Hawkes Bay local who is an artist and art teacher. His art is minimalist, pop-art at times, and represents societal themes.

Taku Tau (Lovers) represents the relationship between the male and female Huia birds, their beaks had special functions that meant one couldn’t survive without the other. Justin also uses symbolism of games that reflect the ebb and flow / ups and downs of our lives and relationships.

Taku Tau is on plywood, and measures 160cm high by 40cm wide.
