Te Rerenga — The Flow measures: 120cm high by 14cm wide. It is sculptured from a retired rimu door.
Te Rerenga speaks to the flow of life — the currents that guide us, the choices we make, and the pathways that unfold before us. Like a paddle steering a waka through shifting waters, this work reflects the moments where we must decide our direction, while also learning to trust the movement of the tides around us. Each curve and line symbolises the journeys we take — sometimes guided by intention, sometimes shaped by circumstance, always evolving. We move through calm waters and restless seas, carrying our experiences with us as we navigate toward new horizons.
This work honours the courage to choose our path, to stay present to the journey, and to flow forward with hope and purpose.
Whakataukī: Ko te pae tawhiti whāia kia tata, ko te pae tata whakamaua kia tina. Seek out the distant horizon so it comes closer, and hold fast to what is near.
